She uses textiles, weaving, ceramics, sculpture, and painting to explore the precarity of human relationships and our interconnectedness to nature. Themes in her work involve recall, recalibration, and renewal. Growing up on a farm, I realized early the interdependency between the land, animals, and humans. This piece explores how we live together and with nature. In light of my experiences over the past few years, I felt compelled to give this material a second life. How do we address this issue? Specifically, I am raising awareness about ACE's, which the CDC is calling a public health crisis. I am also influenced by about Donna Hylton's book, "A Little Piece of Light." She addresses the relationship between ACE's and incarceration.
